Julep Maven: March Box

I just signed up for a brand new subscription box.  It combines my love of nail polish with my love of subscription services.  You all should check out Julep

I am now a Julep Maven subscriber.  It's $19.99 per month and that includes shipping.  You can also pick what polish or products you'd like in your monthly box.  I think that is such a neat feature.

My first box was FREE with the code: FREEBOX.  I only paid for shipping ($3.99) - such an awesome deal.  And my products were beautiful.  I loved my cuticle serum pen, it's so handy.  I keep it in my desk at work.  So nice to have since I touch paper all day and my hands get so dried out!

Here is a breakdown of what I got in my free box (top left photo)...

Myrtle - Red Cream Polish
Zora - Frosted Pink Pearl
Mighty Nail & Cuticle Serum

The February box had 3 spring-y colors that I'm super excited to try out.  Here is a break down of what I got....

Princess Grace - Papaya Cream Polish
Lizanne - Sea Green Shimmer Polish
Margaret - Light Periwinkle Cream Polish

I can't wait to see what they have in store for next month.  I will make sure to share and update on what colors I got and how I like them.

Origins Ginzing

So this post is going to coordinate with my post that went up yesterday, about the Origins Vitazing for the face.  The product I'm going to talk about today is also from Origins.  It's the Origins Ginzing refreshing eye cream.

I also like to get this product from Sephora.  Right now I am using up a smaller sample (photo).  I don't use many of these a year, so I am usually good with one pot per year.

When I apply this to my under eye area it reduces puffiness and makes my under eye darkness less visible.  It's true what they say, it's' so brightening!  And who doesn't want some brightness brought to their under eye area?!

So, do any of you use Origins products?  If so, let me know what your favorite things are in the comments below.

Origins Vitazing

I've had a love affair with this product for the past three years.  The Origins Vitazing face moisturizer is the best thing ever!  I use this ever day after I use my Proactiv face lotion.

This face lotion comes out white and melds to your skin tone after you rub it in.  I am even comfortable enough to wear this alone to the grocery store if I want to give my skin a break from foundation.  The tint is quite sheer, but it evens out your complexion a bit.

I also love that is has SPF 15 so I don't need to worry about using another product on my face when I'm out and about.  I have to walk the dog three times per day, so I like to have a little sun protection on my face.  I have to combat those wrinkles somehow!  haha

Here are a few photos of what the product looks like.  I also worked it into the skin on the bottom right photo so you can see the tone change.

I like to get my Vitazing at Sephora when they have their 20% sale(s).  They usually have those once or twice per year.  I stock up when these sales happen, just because I KNOW that I will use them up.  I currently have 2 backups on hand, just in case.  They also carry this product at the Origins counters and stores.

So have any of you tried this product?  I'd love to know in the comments below, if you care to share.

Makeup Monday: Mascara/Manicure Edition

Are you ready for a two for one?!  Well if you are, this is the blog entry for you.  Makeup Monday has been transformed for the better.  Two products in one.

First I'd like to have a little chitty-chat with you about my favorite mascara.  I've never paid for high end mascara, if you ask me it's a total waste of money.  Mascara is only good for about 3 months, then it gets pretty dried out and you have to toss it.  I can't imagine paying upwards of $30 for a mascara.  Yikes!  I'm am a happy camper using drugstore brands.

My favorite mascara for the past year has been the Maybelline The Rocket in Waterproof.  I have to use the waterproof version because my skin is like an oil slick and my eyelids are no different.  It also seems with waterproof versions of any mascara, it tends to stay in place way better than the non-waterproof versions.  No raccoon eyes by mid-day.

I tend to lean towards the black mascara.  When I was younger (high school) I always bought brown mascara, but I'm a woman now so black is better for me!  haha

Anyway, I thought I would include what I did to may nails this weekend as well.  I knew I would get questions, so why not address it now?...  I'm so efficient!

I did the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips, in 02 Hide and Peek.  These are great if you don't want to wait for dry time when you do a manicure.  These nail polish strips are sooooo easy to do, just follow the instructions.  I thought these ones were cute, They look like black lace with a transparent backing.  I love nail art, but I'm not very good at it.  These make me look like an expert!

So what is your favorite mascara?  Have you ever used the Sally Hanson nail polish strips???  I'd love to know in the comments below, if you care to share.

Sunday Fun-Day

Hello there friends!  Tis I, Emily....  Your NASCAR watching fool.

Okay can we just talk about the Daytona 500 for a second?!....  I mean OMG, it was amazing. I could have done without the rain delay, but after those many hours were finally behind us it was ON like Donkey Kong!

If you didn't watch the race, my main man, Dale JR won his 2nd Daytona 500!  Props to him.  I was beaming from ear to ear watching those last few laps. I couldn't be more ecstatic for him and all everyone on the 88 team.

I hope he can bring home another victory today at Phoenix. You know I'll be watching and cheering along.

Well lets get back to the post of the day, shall we??  I was asked by a few pals to share some photos of my racing fan-dom. I thought I would share a few photos from the July race in Daytona a few years back.

These are my pals Courtney & Heather. They are big race fans too (obviously). Courtney is actually the one who I me into the sport.  If it wasn't for her I wouldn't watch any sports. Thanks Court!!!!

We always had so much fun going down to Florida and watching the race. The photo of all of us sitting down is actually close to the start/finish line on the actual track. We even got to write our names on the wall!  How cool is that?!

Hopefully I will going to another race in Daytona soon enough. I love me racing. The sounds is the best thing ever - if you've ever been to a live race you know what I'm talking about.

Have any if you ever been to a NASCAR race?  I'd love to know in the comments, if you care to share.
