Snack Time: Cheese & Crackers

I am huge fan of snacking.  It's a good thing for my body and mind.  When I snack, it helps me ration my food intake better throughout the day.  Plus when you are constantly eating small meals (or snacking) on healthy-er things it's beneficial for shedding pounds.  At least that's what works for me :)

So my favorite go-to snack is 6 or 7 cheese and crackers.  I know this is not the healthiest thing ever, but I will only eat this snack once or twice per week.

The best crackers I've found are from Trader Joe's.   They are the Original Savory Thins.  They are less than $2.00 per pack and super delicious - thin and crispy.  There is no Trader Joe's in the Fargo area, so every time I go to Minneapolis I always have stock up.

I wish Trader Joe's sold them online, but that's not possible yet.  You never know, they could be available online someday.  But for now, I will keep going down to Minneapolis for this tasty little treat.  Especially when I'm already coming into town for other things.

My "spread" of choice with my amazing Trader Joe's crackers is from Wisconsin Kaukauna, in the Sharp Cheddar Cheese flavor.  This is a delicious spreadable cheese.  Luckily, I can find this at my local grocery store and It's widely available in my area.

This snack combination is great before a work out or if I'm in a pinch to eat something super quick.  It makes me full without making me feel like I'm going to hurl after I've been bouncing around in my Zumba class.  I hate to work out on an empty stomach, but I also don't want to feel super full.

So what's your favorite go-to snack of choice?  Do you have any special tips or tricks for eating before a workout?  Let me know in the comments below, if you care to share.

Thanks for reading!
